Sorry for the long silence, the last few months have been hectic to say the least.
The graphic novel GOING DOWN was released at Emerald City ComicCon in March, as a "soft launch", while now we simply play the waiting game for bigger news on that front. Hopefully soon there will be something to jump up and down about that.
This coming weekend, I will be at Wonder NorthWest with Wade Busby! I will be doing the usual convention offerings...sketches, sketchbooks, recent comics and of course a stack of GOING DOWN, only have 6 copies left for now.
My newest offering will be...(drum roll) Volumes 2, 3, and 4 of my sketchbook series PRE. With only a handful of volume 1 left, I have decided to put all those other drawings together and, what do you know, it was enough to fill 3 more volumes. These will be my sketchbook offering starting at wonder northwest and probably for the rest of the year. It take a lot of time to put together a book culling through stacks of drawings trying to pick the ones that will interest fans, so unless there is a call for another (vol. 5) I think I'm done for the year. I still have Rose City and Bellingham to do this year as well.
so, here is a taste of what will be in the PRE 2013 series of sketchbooks...

Here is where you can see what madness is spilling out of my head and onto the page. Sketches, Illustrations, Character Designs, Comic Book pages Past & Present will make their way up here eventually.

POST Emerald City Comic Con 2013
Wow, what a weekend! Spent the last 3 days at ECCC at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle! I had a wonderful time, I re-connected with so many of my "art" family. Such a whirlwind still in my head, but I will break it down as best as I can...
Day 1 Friday,
I'm early, the show doesnt open for another 2 hours, I'm good for time, and as what I have come to call tradition now, I run into Brian McDonald, a long time, and very talented friend of mine going back to the High School Days, in front of the Convention center. It's tradition. It's not planned, coordinated or expected. In the back of my mind, though, I feel it will happen as it has so many times in the past. We get caught up, exchange ideas on how to fix the problems of the world, add a ton of laughs and chuckles, and part ways.
I had no problems getting into the convention, I had my Fast Pass. I get my badge and head to my table. Boom! I'm Right across from Comics, and next to the great bunch of guys at the NeoTrash table. Bang! I'm set up! Table is looking spiffy and with the special center piece, extra special. This con I got to premiere a limited release of the Graphic Novel "GOING DOWN"! Now, for those of you who have known me for awhile, you have heard more than your fair share of this project, hahaha, BUT, now it's real, it's in my hand, it's on the table! and the biggest "AND" is, that even though it was a limited release, IT ALMOST SOLD OUT!
Thanks to everyone who supported this along the way and BIG thanks to everyone who bought a copy at the show! You rock!
Don't worry, I did remember to hold copies for those of you who couldn't make it to the convention, or are out of state friends. Let's make those dinner plans!
I had the usual mix of items for sale: PRE (my 2012 sketchbook), 1 color sketchcards, full color sketchcards, "Z" sketchcovers, Trade paperbacks of collected works, copies of comics that I have been doing over the last year or so, But yeah, the graphic novel...
Marx was at the table as well. Marx and I go back to my pioneer square studio days, back in the days when I was at DC and Marvel, inking my ass off! Back when I first was introduced to Dev Madan! ya, them days. Anyway, Marx was the letterer on the Graphic Novel, and on some other books from Unibrow, and this year he was raffling off a "chance to win a fine, hand-crafted, one of a kind rubber band gun"! Brilliant! I hope he took pictures of it cuz it was pretty cool! I dropped a heavy rubberband in that puppy and hit the ceiling of the show room with it! He did pretty well with that idea! Hoping he has like 20 of them at the next show!
More on the show later, I got some stuff to draw!

I've never been asked to do Sci-Fi before, and didn't know how I would do, but I think I pushed myself and made the project mine.
This is gonna be on my table at Emerald City 2013 along with some other books by yours truly!
BTW, i aint gonna show ya all the pages, just my favorites.

BLUESHIFT
SCI-FI from me. I usually don't do sci-fi, I don't know why... BLUESHIFT has been a blast! It's' not like I don't want to do sci-fi, nobody offers me sci-fi stuff to do! BLUESHIFT is created by Gigi Edgely and Brian Meredith, Written by Brian Meredith, with Pencils and inks by me!

Due to a small oversight on my part, I was not able to get comments from viewers. I have corrected this issue and now any and all my comment if they choose to do so. Feedback is welcome here! As an artist, I do not live in the popular vacuum of "praise only", so even constructive criticism is welcome here.
Thanks.
Ron.
